Sixth Form Applications
If you do not currently attend Malcolm Arnold Academy, we will be running monthly newcomers events, starting in January. This is an opportunity to meet the sixth form team, teaching staff and current students and see lessons during the school day.

Once applications are complete you will be invited to a discussion meeting with one of the sixth form team.
At the discussion meeting, students not currently attending Malcolm Arnold Academy will need to bring details of their predicted grades.

Bursary and Support
Free Schools Meals
Because MAA Sixth Form is part of a school, you could get a free school meal each day. This does depend on whether you or a parent receives one of following, at specific amounts:
- Income Support
- Income-based Jobseekers Allowance
- Income-related Employment and Support Allowance (ESA)
- Support under the Immigration and Asylum Act 1999 part 4
- The guaranteed element of State Pension Credit
- Universal Credit
- Child Tax Credit
Discretionary Bursaries
At MAA Sixth Form, a discretionary bursary of up to £1,200 per year may be able to you to help with the costs of studying in the Sixth Form. This can include money for your:
- Books
- Clothing
- Equipment
- Trips and travel
This money is paid into the Sixth Form students’ bank accounts. There are terms and conditions for the discretionary bursary, such as parent income levels, student attendance and achievement.
Guaranteed Bursaries (Vulnerable student bursaries)
If you are in care, a care leaver or receive any of the following in your own name, you may be eligible to receive £1200 each year to support the costs of studying at MAA Sixth Form.
- Income Support or Universal Credit
- Disability Living Allowance or Personal Independence Payments
- Employment and Support Allowance.
